Fern grew up immersed in Brazil's fashion industry; Beth was born to sell. Together, they launched Lilac Bijoux- a boutique that offers international and locally designed jewelry, handbags and accessories. With some thing for every budget and style, Lilac Bijoux also makes custom creations at their Jewelry Bar, featuring designer Leda Reis. The boutique, voted Best of Baltimore 2006, hosts an annual jewelry design contest to discover new talent. Find out why Lucky magazine calls Lilac Bijoux a "hidden treasure."

Lilac Bijoux reflects the well-traveled path of its co-owner, transplant Fernada “Fern” Elliott. Raised in Rio de Janeiro but now based in Annapolis, Fern and her partner Beth Haschen Ingham showcase jewelry designers from far and near. Look for inexpensive pieces from Kelim (Switzerland), Pilgrim (Denmark) and Mgold (Brazil) mixed in with designs from locals like Jackie Powers, Jennifer King and Leda Reis (who also happens to be Fern’s mother). The pair try to keep prices under $300 so you can always find something special and sensible. Don’t miss: The cute and colorful leather goods from MyWalit. 511 E. Belvedere Ave., 410-323-4333

Lilac Bijoux, an Annapolis jewelery and accessories shop, has opened a second location at Belvedere Square in North Baltimore.
Co-owners Fern Elliott and Beth Ingham share a playful eye and an appreciation for reasonably priced baubles with a fine touch. Earrings and other small pieces start in the $20 range. "We try not to have anything more than $300," Elliott says.
Matte sterling silver pieces by Kelim, a Switzerland design firm, are formed with interlocking petals and other organic shapes. Brooklyn, N.Y.'s Alexis Bittar makes earrings that look like tiny, jeweled mobiles.
Baltimore's Jackie Powers fashions necklaces with sterling pendants and semi-precious stones. Pagliei of California produces wax-stamped initial charms in sterling. Leda Reis, Elliott's mother, creates jewelery to order as well.
The shop sells clutches and hobo bags by Betsey Johnson, vegan bags that resemble leather by Montreal-based matt & nat, and an array of handbags and designer purses from the Annapolis concern Hobo.

Lilac Bijoux is pleased to announce the winner of the HOT DESIGNER contest...
Jennifer King
Jennifer is a life long resident of Maryland. She is originally from Reisterstown, but now calls Mt. Airey home with her husband and three children.
Growing up in a family where creativity was everywhere, Jennifer found a creative outlet when her children started school three years ago. She started with basic metal and crystal and has evolved to sterling silver, gold filled, and semi precious stones.
Lilac Bijoux is very excited to share Jennifer's beautiful baubles with you at her trunk show in July. (Details to follow, soon!)
Congratulations Jennifer!

Thank you for voting us Best of Baltimore 2006!

Miss USA Contestants Shop Lilac Bijoux
April 12, 2006
On April 12 Lilac Bijoux was pleased to have 13 of the 2006 Miss USA contestants shop in our boutique. Flanked by television cameras, microphones, flashbulbs, and curious onlookers, the ladies were courteous and gracious and were as pleasant as they are lovely. It was truly an honor to have them take time out of their busy schedules to visit and shop with us. There can be only one Miss USA, but all the women who visited us are worthy of the crown.
